PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for an article with which the article such as clothes can be displayed with a good design if it is viewed either from the front or the rear. SOLUTION: The packaging material comprises a single sheet which has sheet bodies 1a and 1b in the front and the rear via a strip 2, extensions 3a and 3b provided on left and right sides of the body 1a via creases 4, and locking means 5a and 5b provided at left and right ends of the extensions 3a and 3b for overlapping and locking them. Extensions 7a and 7b are further provided on left and right sides of the sheet body 1b via creases 6. Locking means 8a and 8b for overlapping and locking the extensions 7a and 7b are provided at their left and right ends, A slit 9 which can lock the extensions 3a and 3b is also provided between the body 1b and the crease 6. This sheet can be used with a head of the article completely covered.
