METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a honeycomb structure by which the honeycomb structure having excellent moldability can be manufactured with high productivity and the load imposed on a molding apparatus can be reduced. SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure is manufactured by mixing a dispersant containing salt of a fatty acid and at least water in a granular ceramic raw material and kneading them to obtain a ceramic body and subjecting the obtained ceramic body to extrusion molding. The salt of the fatty acid constituting the dispersant contains 45-75 mass% (in terms of the fatty acid) salt of a 12C fatty acid, 10-30 mss% (in terms of the fatty acid) salt of a 14C fatty acid, 5-15 mass% (in terms of the fatty acid) salt of a 16C fatty acid and the balance is the salt of a fatty acid of other carbon number.
