PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heating/warming fabric article, e.g. an electric blanket, heating/warming pad or heated garment, into which a plurality of spaced-apart electrical resistance heating members, in the form of conductive yarns, are incorporated by a knitting or weaving process. SOLUTION: A method of forming the objective fabric article adapted to generate heat on application of electric power comprises, for example, the steps of joining a stitch yarn and a loop yarn to form a fabric prebody, with the loop yarn overlaying the stitch yarn at a technical face and forming in loops at a technical back of the fabric prebody; for example, incorporating into the fabric prebody as the stitch yarn electrical resistance heating elements in the form of conductive yarns in a symmetrically and/or asymmetrically spaced-apart manner, arranging the electrical resistance heating elements extending between opposite edge regions of the fabric body, and providing conductor elements arranged along the edge regions for connecting the electrical resistance heating elements to a source of electric power. |
