PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaner which oxidizes particulates on a particulate filter collected by the particulate filter placed in a muffler, and prevents hazardous materials, other than particulates from passing through the muffler and discharging into the air. SOLUTION: The cleaner comprises the muffler 100 placed in an engine exhaust system, the particulate filter 70 placed in the muffler for collecting and oxidizing particulates in an exhaust gas and a catalyst apparatus 75 placed at the downstream side of the particulate filter in the muffler.
