<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hose coupling structure and a hose coupling method enabling a metal composite hose with excellent impermeability, flexibility and coupling strength to a mating member to be coupled to the mating member rigidly and with high sealing ability. SOLUTION: A rubber hose coupling member 5 with a corrugated helical outer surface, which can be engaged with the inner peripheral part of a metallic corrugated helical pipe 2, is screwed into the metallic corrugated helical pipe 2 provided as a inner layer of the metal composite hose. A pipe-type insert of the mating member to which the metal composite hose is attached is pressedly fitted into a slot 6 provided in the hose coupling member. Preferably, the hose coupling member is formed with a rubber material in a curing condition. Curing of the rubber material is completed after forming the hose coupling structure and the rubber material is curingly bonded to the metallic corrugated helical pipe and the pipe-type insert. More preferably, a metallic sleeve is fitted over the outer periphery of the metal composite hose so that the whole hose coupling structure is tightened.</p> |
