SOLUTION: In an improved method for releasing a hydrophilic polymer contact lens from the plastic mold wherein the polymer contact lens is polymerized, water, which is made nonionic, having a squall amount of a surfactant added thereto is used as a hydration solution for releasing the lens from the plastic mold.
