PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in carrying cargoes. SOLUTION: The cargo lifter comprises a body case 2 supported by a cylindrical column 3, the body case 2 storing a motor 4, a warm gear 10 to be linked to the motor 4 via a shaft 6 and a pulley 11, and a wire 4 wound on the pulley 11, the wire 12 being driven by the rotation of the motor 4 for driving a hook 12 to be moved up and down at the end of a wire 12. The case 2 has a motor wall 5 for supporting the motor 4 and the column 3 having a fixing member to be mounted on a veranda 22 is mounted on a projecting portion 5a of the motor wall 5 at an angle for permitting the body case 2 to be turned with the column 3 as an axis during installation on the veranda.
