PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw-cut container which is easy to handle and is designed to hold solid cosmetics with a larger application area. SOLUTION: This container comprises a container body 1, in a hollow disk shape, having a storing chamber 18 which is, in a non-round shape in cross section, provided with a first opening 7 on the top and a second opening 13 in the center of the lower plate 14 as well as a handle control window 9 on both back and front enclosing walls in the lower part, a holding plate member 21 which suspends a male screw cylinder 23 to screw into a female screw cylinder, from a holding plate 22 interfitted with the storing chamber 18, through the second opening 13, a female screw cylinder member 31 which makes a part of the female screw cylinder that partly forms a handle 33 to come out of a handle control window 9, and also a pivotal lid member 51 which includes foot plates 53, 53 to be suspended from both back and front fringes of a top plate 52 to cover the first opening 7, allowing a first engagement part 54 provided on the lower inner surface to engage with a second engagement part 4 provided in the lower center of both enclosing walls 3, 3. By lifting the pivotal lid member 51, the first engagement part 54 moves to third engagement parts 5, 5, and the lid can be rotated against the container body.
