METHOD FOR REDUCING TOOL CONTACT AREA WITH WALL OF MATERIAL TO BE CUT IN THRUST-DOWN PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the breakage of a tool 1 and the defect of a product caused by the fact that the tool 1 is forced to come into contact with the wall of a material 3 to be cut in the processing method called as a thrust-down processing by using a machine tool. SOLUTION: By zigzagging the tool 1 against the processing direction, an area where the tool 1 is forced to come into contact with the wall of the material 3 to be cut is reduced. There are a vertical and a slanting way in a method for taking the tool 1 down. If the tool is taken down slantingly, the area required for the tool 1 to come into contact with the wall of the material 3 to be cut can be reduced lesser than the required area in the case of being taken down vertically.
