PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably keep the high sorting precision of an air shifter by holding the edge angle of sorting edges at a constant position even when the capacity of the shifter is increased. SOLUTION: In the air shifter, a raw material containing powder particles different in size is ejected toward an air current for sorting to by the sorting edges 21a and 21b. The shifter has servo-motors 51 for rotating the edges 21a and 21b, a timing belt 52 for transmitting the driving force of the motors 51 to the edges 21a and 21b, and a braking device 53 for fixing the edges 21a and 21b to prevent them from rotating. The device 53 holds the edges 21a and 21b at a constant angle independent of the rotation lock of the motor 51.
