METHOD FOR PRODUCING SPORANGIUM OF BACILLUS POPILLIAE, AGENT FOR CONTROLLING INSECT IN SCARABAEIDAE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE INSECT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and massively producing the sporangium of Bacillus popilliae which has an excellent control effect against insects in Scarabaeidae, especially Anomala cuprea and Blitopertha orientalis, to provide a control agent against the insects in Scarabaeidae containing the sporangium as an active ingredient, and to provide a method for controlling the insects of Scarabaeidae with the sporangium. SOLUTION: This method for producing the sporangium of a fungus belonging to Bacillus popilliae and containing spores and parasporal bodies comprises culturing a fungus belonging to the Bacillus popilliae in a peptone-added culture medium containing 1 to 8.5 wt.% of aspartic acid, 0.1 to 8.5 wt.% of glycine, and 1 to 15.5 wt.% of glutamic acid. The agent for controlling the insects in Scarabaeidae contains as the active ingredient the Bacillus popilliae sporangium produced by the production method. And the method for controlling the insects of Scarabaeidae comprises treating the insects of Scarabaeidae with the Bacillus popilliae sporangium produced by the production method.
