PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having an intake appliance improved in convenience by enabling turning on a surface to be cleaned over a wide range in an exhaust circulating type. SOLUTION: The intake appliance 8 has a main body 9 having a sucking port 11 on the lower surface, a flexible connecting pipe 19, a linking part 26 at the back of the connecting pipe 19, a first link 17 freely rotatably attached to a connection plane with the rear side of the main body 9, and a second link 18 provided on the first link 17 to be freely inclined, the connecting pipe 19 is connected through the first link 17 to the main body 9, the linking part 26 is held by the second link 18, and an exhaust pass 37 is formed between the first link 17 and the second link 18. In such an exhaust circulating type vacuum cleaner, the intake appliance 8 can be turned on the surface to be cleaned over a wide range.
