PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail for a toilet provided with a handrail arm (1) eliminating interference with a cabinet front surface and the door of an inspection port in a cabinet type toilet, (2) keeping a sitting position at a suitable position and (3) eliminating the interference with a hand washing device or a roll paper device or the like arranged on a wall surface inside a toilet room. SOLUTION: In this handrail 1 for the toilet constituted of a main body frame 4 and a rest frame 6, the main body frame 4 is composed of leg parts 3 installed on the left and right of a toilet 2 and columns 5 erected on the leg parts 3, and the rest frame 6 is composed of side rods 8 supported by the columns 5 and a connection rod 9 disposed between the side rods 8. The handrail arm 10 is pivoted to the side rods 8 of the rest frame 6 freely turnably from the back of the toilet 2 to the front of the toilet 2, the side rods 8 are extended to the back of the toilet 2 so as to make the connection rod 9 of the rest frame 6 approach or almost abut on cabinet 14 at the back of the toilet 2 and the front-and-back position of the connection rod 9 is withdrawn to the back of the toilet 2 further than the front-and-back position of the columns 5.
