PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine capable of selecting whether an illumination means performs illumination or not, and selecting whether information is imparted by an information means, thereby operating these selections by a player. SOLUTION: The slot machine is provided with a permission signal generating means 42 for generating a permission signal by a lottery which permits the stop of patterns in prescribed states on rotary reels 3-5, a back light 31 for illuminating the patterns of the rotary reels 3-5 based on the lottery by the permission signal generating means 42, a back light control means 47 and an illumination selecting operation means 38 for selectively performing an operation on whether the illumination is performed or not. The player performs the selecting operation by the selecting operation means 38.
