PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inhibit damage caused in a grindstone when grinding states while a cycle time can be shortened. SOLUTION: A grinding method and its system wherein the grindstone is fed for cutting at a predetermined infeed speed for grinding a surface, and the surface of a work is ground, then the infeed speed is switched to a higher infeed speed for main grinding than that of the infeed speed for the surface grinding. A power amplitude discriminating portion 53 monitors change in a motor power detected value, and discriminates whether the amplitude of the change in the detected value becames a certain value or less. An infeed control 54 switches the infeed speed to the infeed speed for the main grinding from the infeed speed for the surface grinding when the amplitude of the change is discriminated to become the certain value or less.
