PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction casting method capable of carrying out effective reduction casting without impairing the reductive property of a reduction compound in a cavity. SOLUTION: In the reduction casting method wherein a molten metal is tapped into a cavity 12b of a forming mold 12, and the molten metal and a reductive compound are brought into contact in the cavity 12b of the forming mold to conduct casting while reducing an oxide film formed on the surface of the molten metal, at least after making the humidity in the cavity 12b to be 70% or below, a metal gas and a reactive gas are introduced in the cavity 12b to generate the reductive compound in the cavity, then the molten metal is tapped into the cavity 12b to conduct the casting.
