<p>Manufacture of metal ropes, partic. V-ropes for driving V-groove pulleys as disclosed in NL 6813649, starting from a tubular material which is brought to the required wall thickness and to a diam. corresponding to that of the metal rope, by flow turning. Advantageously seamless tubular material is used and the flow turned material is brought to the desired rope-width by machining or turning. The sloping part of the rope is formed or pre-formed at the same time as the rope is separated from the tubular material. Steel V-ropes can be mass-produced very economically.</p> |
