PURPOSE: A wear warning device of a friction material for a disk brake in a vehicle is provided to replace the friction material timely by warning the wear of the friction material to a driver with lighting warning lamps sequentially by increasing the projection width of a conductor according to wear of the friction material. CONSTITUTION: A wear warning device(41) is composed of a conductor protruded to a disk(21) in a cylinder(32) of a disk brake(31) and attached to the upper part of a piston(33) to contact a friction material(34) to the disk; a sensing wire(42) mounted to the cylinder mounting the piston having the conductor to detect the projection width of the conductor; a battery(43) connected to the sensing wire; and a warning lamp(45) connected to the battery through a wire(44) and turned on and off by controlling current of the battery corresponding to conduction or short of the sensing wire. The sensing wires are arranged around the conductor, and the warning lamps are varied in different color or intensity according to the connection of the sensing wires.
