CORE NETWORK SIMULATOR FOR VERIFICATION OF FUNCTIONS OF RADIO NETWORK CONTROLLER IN IMT-2000 ASYNCHRONOUS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A CN(Core Network) simulator for the verification of the functions of an RNC(Radio Network Controller) in an IMT-2000 asynchronous system is provided to support a protocol test function and to offer a user traffic interface function through a test for a call processing procedure and function and the transfer of actual voice data by enabling a call to be made between an actual terminal and a PSTN subscriber. CONSTITUTION: A CN simulator is divided into a front end system(201) and a rear end system(202). A call control application part(209) in the rear end system(202) generates a virtual call to analyze the call processing performance of an RNC(214) or processes the incoming/outgoing call from an actual terminal or a PSTN user. For this, a network signal processing part(208) in the front end system(201) detects a signal from a PSTN(210) or transmits a call setup signal to the PSTN(210). A call processing part(210) controls the RNC(214) in order to support incoming/outgoing calls and provides a function to exchange call setup information with a terminal. For this, a signaling link control part(212) supports an ATM signaling link.
