PURPOSE: A gas discharge display device is provided to increase luminance of plasma display device by increasing the area of phosphor and amount of light emitted from the phosphor. CONSTITUTION: A gas discharge display device includes a diaphragm(5) with a predetermined height and width, and a filler space with a predetermined size. The gas discharge display device has a predetermined space to be filled with an inert gas. When a voltage having a predetermined size is applied to the electrode exposed in the filler space, a phosphor(6) is excited by the discharge occurred between electrodes, to thereby allow the phosphor to emit light. The diaphragm forming a space to be filled with an inert gas, is formed into a stepped shape, thus permitting the phosphor to have an increased area.
