DEMULTIPLEXING SYSTEM USING THIN DIFFRACTION GRATING

PURPOSE: A demultiplexing system using a thin diffraction grating is provided to spatially separate wavelengths respectively at the focal plane of a focusing lens using a thin diffraction grating and the focusing lens. CONSTITUTION: If a received beam, comprising a plurality of wavelengths, is transmitted through an optical fiber(110), the beam is converted in the form of a horizontal light, D in width, through a collimator(112) formed at the output terminal of the optical fiber(110). The light passed through the collimator(112) is diffracted through a thin diffraction grating(114) having a plurality of channels. The diffracted light is horizontally separated through a focusing lens(116) formed at the back of the thin diffraction grating(114).
