PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic meter reader, an instrumentation system using the device and the like that permit a pointer or digital type meter having been arranged to be used as it is and can read a measured value in a shorter time and with higher accuracy. SOLUTION: The automatic reader for a meter 20 with a dial for indicating a measured value comprises an image pickup device 33 for picking up an image of an indication face 21 of the meter including indication parts, a memory 36 for storing position information on the indication parts 22 to 27 of the meter, an image selecting and storing means 37 for selecting an indication part image corresponding to the position information on the indication parts stored in the memory 36 from the pickup image picked up by the image pickup device 33 and storing the selection, and a measured value determining means 38 for processing the indication part image stored in the image selecting and storing means to determine a measured value on the corresponding indication part. |
