PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an extra-length-contained self-supporting cable to be effectively drawn and wound while the cable core of the extra-length-contained self-supporting cable is not deformed, damaged, or broken between press rolls. SOLUTION: The cable 1 has a sheath 4 having a potbellied section for totally sheathing a support line 2 and the cable core 3. Drawing and winding belts 34, 34' are pressed to the cable 1 by the press rolls 62, 62', one of which is shifted in the drawing and winding direction to be in the position where two press rolls are not opposed each other. The extra length of the cable core 3 is bent and can be received in a space where the press rolls 62 or 62' are not in contact with the cable core, while the cable 1 is conveyed between the pres rolls 62 and 62' in a waved form to be drawn and wound up.
