PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ease the registration of image data obtained by reading a manuscript, and enable the reliable registration. SOLUTION: A digital coping machine 1 with a network scanner function is connected to personal computers PC1 and PC2 via LAN. When registering image data in a database 32, added information including classification information and attribute information is inputted from the digital coping machine 1, and then a manuscript is scanned. The image data and the added information are transmitted to the personal computer PC1 in such a manner that the image data and the added information are associated with each other. The personal computer PC1 converts the received data to database and registers it in the database 32.
