<p>1337205 Medicinal plant extracts Y SAKAMOTO and K SAKAMOTO 19 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 53797/71 Addition to 1300966 and 1157717 Heading A5B [Also in Division B1] Pharmacologically active liquid distillates and paste-like residues are obtained by placing a plant selected from garlic, pearl barley, unpolished rice, low striped bamboo, boxthorn, mugwort, leaves of arrowroot, mustard seed and red pepper in the raw, uncut and unbruised state into a vacuum distillation vessel having an indirect heating system and subjecting it to dry distillation, preferably under reduced pressure, e.g. 70 to 80 mm Hg, at 40 to 60‹C, whilst subjecting the material to cutting and crushing by an agitating blade having a cutter. During distallation, the vessel may be constantly purged with a slow flow of an inert gas, e.g. N 2 or He. The pasty residue may be dried in vacuum to a powder.</p> |
