PURPOSE: A steering wheel for vehicles is provided to protect safely a driver by deforming a rim in order to absorb impact energy and spreading to the remaining energy to a spoke and a hub. CONSTITUTION: A steering wheel for a vehicle is composed of a hub(200) in which a steering column is coupled at a bottom thereof, a rim(100) installed at an outside of the hub(200), and a spoke(300) for connecting the rim(100) and the hub(200). A hollow portion(110) is formed at an inside of the rim(100). A steel rod(400) is installed at the inside of the hollow portion(110). A hole is formed in a certain distance passing through the steel rod(400). If a body of a driver contacts to the rim(100) due to a collision of the vehicle, impact energy is absorbed by deforming the rim and spreading the remaining energy to the spoke and the hub.
