PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-dimensional superconducting wire rod including a superconductor not having a flat conductive surface that causes conductive anisotropy, and to provide a superconducting coil using the wire rod. SOLUTION: In this superconducting wire rod including a polycrystalline superconducting material having one-dimensional conductivity, the conducting direction of the polycrystalline superconducting material is disposed in the lengthwise direction of the wire rod.
