PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imager scanner capable of scanning images with no vertical streaks by preventing the generation of vertical streaks due to the attachment of dirt, dust, or the like. SOLUTION: An ADF manuscript glass 26 is vibrated in the direction vertical to the transportation direction of a manuscript P by means of a source 28 of vibration to move dirt and dust attached to the ADF manuscript glass 26 at all times and thereby scan an image with no vertical streaks.
