PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to reduce the time lag from the time when paper data is generated to the time when the data is processed to be reusable and the mailing cost, and to decrease the amounts of data to be transferred in the case of that information providers and processing/storage places are apart from each other. SOLUTION: In the image information processing method according to this invention, image information, which includes image and text data on paper documents, is inputted from a terminal device, and then the inputted image information is transferred to a server via a network. Subsequently, only a required image area is extracted from the image data, and the extracted image data and the text data related to the image data are linked to be stored as image information at the server. Furthermore, the system prompts an information viewer to input necessary information, and then retrieves information related to the input from image information stored in the server.
