PURPOSE: To effect rapid cooling during charging of power sources of under-mentioned two sections and besides enable realization of it without the occurrence of other problem, in a refrigerator where a first flow passage through which a refrigerant flows to a vaporizer for a refrigerating section and a second flow passage through which the refrigerant flows to a vaporizer for a deep freezing section are situated in juxtaposition and the two sections are alternately cooled. CONSTITUTION: During charging of a power source, a refrigerant flows to both the first and second flow passages to rapidly cool the two sections. A circulation amount of chamber air by a fan for the refrigerating section is increased to a value higher than a circulation amount of chamber air by a fan for a deep freezing section (S1). After operation (S2 and S3) are carried out in the mode until a chamber temperature reaches a given temperature or a given time elapses, through operation of alternately cooling of the refrigerating section and a deed freezing section (S4), the refrigerant is prevented from returning to a compressor with the refrigerant being liquid.
