PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar array antenna which can very much enlarge a use frequency band, using a simple structure. SOLUTION: The planar array antenna is constituted of a ground conductor 1, a first dielectric layer 2a disposed on the ground conductor 1, a feeding substrate 3 arranged on the first dielectric layer 2a, a second dielectric layer 2b arranged on the feeding substrate 3, a slot plate 4 provided on the second dielectric layer 2b, a third dielectric layer 2c placed on the slot plate 4 and a non-feeding substrate 9 disposed on the third dielectric layer 2c. The feeding substrate 3 has a plurality of radiation element units, arranged in a matrix form and feeding lines 6 connected to the radiation element units 8. One of a plurality of the radiation element units 8 is constituted of a patch 5, which is a main radiation part and an auxiliary radiation part 12, which is connected to the patch 5 and has an area smaller than the patch 5.
