The hydraulic lift cylinder comprises a primary body (10) in which a primary piston (28) is displaced to delimit a primary variable volume chamber (C1) receiving a primary fluid (FP). The cylinder has a secondary body (12) in which a secondary piston (30) coupled to the primary piston defines a secondary variable volume chamber (C2) receiving a secondary fluid (FS). The secondary body has an internal transverse section greater that the internal transverse section of the primary body so that the two pistons have the same displacement travel and the volume of the displaced secondary fluid is greater than the volume of the displaced primary fluid.
