<p>To reduce corrosion in industrial plant, an ac. current is passed through the medium. Its frequency is 45-5000 Hg, pref. 50-500 Hg, at 20-100 mA/cm2 for at least 20 sec. followed by a contact time of at least 20 min. Pref. the current is produced by an electric field of between 1 and 10 V/cm. Apparatus is described, and has stainless steel electrodes.</p> |
