Device (1) for detecting the core supply voltage (Vdd) for an integrated circuit with respect to the interface supply voltage (Vdd3) which is nominally at a higher level and is supplied for transmission of input-output signals. The detection device supplies a detection signal (CORE-OFF) to the interface circuits (9) to force their outputs into a high impedance state and to minimize their consumption when the core supply voltage is too low to allow the integrated circuit to operate. The invention also relates to a corresponding MOS integrated circuit with an inventive core voltage detection device.
