PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen adsorption metal negative electrode for a nickel - hydrogen battery capable of increasing battery capacity to keep a longer battery life. SOLUTION: A hydrogen adsorption metal negative electrode 1 comprises a conductive base material 2 and an electrode material 3 held by the conductive base material 2. The electrode material 3 comprises hydrogen adsorption metal powder and active hydrogen adsorption metal powder comprising a plurality of fine particles. The particle size d of fine particles is 5-500 nm, and content of fine particles is 0.1-40 atom.%. The fine particle corresponds to at least one kind selected from among Ni fine particle, Fe fine particle, V fine particle, Mn fine particle, Ti fine particle, Cu fine particle, Pd fine particle, Pt fine particle, Au fine particle, Ag fine particle, Co fine particle, Mo fine particle, Cr fine particle, Ru fine particle, Rh fine particle, Ir fine particle, W fine particle, Hf fine particle, and fine particle of alloy of single metal of them. |
