PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object extracting device and its method, on the basis of the matching of a regional characteristic value of a regionally divided image. SOLUTION: This object extracting device for extracting object from an image is provided with an image input part for inputting an inquiry image, including the object and an object extracted-image included in the inquiry image, an object position determining part for determining a position of the object in the object-extracted image by matching the color characteristic by a unit of pixel, an image dividing part for dividing the inquiry image and the object- extracted image into regions, by utilizing the image characteristic value including color or texture, and an object region deciding part for determining a final object region by matching the region of the regionally divided inquiry image and the region of the regionally divided object-extracted image by utilizing the color or texture characteristic value, and utilizing similarity of spatial adjacency between matching regions, obtained as a result of the matching. |
