PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument which enables a player to play even a complicated piece of music on a keyboard with easy fingering in a accordance with automatic playing and doesn't give a sense of incongruity to the player even in the case that the player plays the keyboard while listening to automatic playing. SOLUTION: The electronic musical instrument is provided with a key transposing switch 43 which instructs a player to transpose of sounds produced by operating a keyboard 20 and is provided in an operation panel 21, an automatic playing means 10 which automatically plays a piece of music on the basis of automatic playing data, and a music transposing switch 44 which indicates transposition of sounds produced by the automatic playing means and is provided in the operation panel 21, and sounds produced by the automatic playing means are transposed in response to the indication of the music transposing switch to suppress transposition of sounds produced by operating the keyboard.
