<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic tape autoloader which provides a reliable backup environment by preventing backup failure due to the fault caused by an individual body of magnetic tape cartridge. SOLUTION: The history of the fault caused by the individual body of the magnetic tape cartridge in the transportation of the magnetic tape cartridge is controlled by recording the history in a memory on the magnetic tape cartridge. The history is analyzed when the fault is generated, and when such a possibility that the fault attributable to the individual body of magnetic tape cartridge is again generated, this possibility is warned to the operator. Further, when the possibility exists such that the fault attributable to the individual body of magnetic tape cartridge is generated at the point in time when the cartridge is set into the magnetic tape autoloader for making the inventory by the operator, the warning for this possibility is issued to the operator.</p> |
