PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the sending of a hold sound, even if there is mismatch among mounted functions. SOLUTION: Upon receipt of a hold request from a terminal #1 being held, a connection controller 13 relays the hold request to a terminal #2 (steps S2, S3). Upon the receipt of the hold request from the controller 13, the terminal #2 sends a hold sound acquire request to a hold sound sender #1, if it has no hold sound sending function (steps S4, S5). Upon the receipt of this, the hold sound sender #1 reads held sound data saved in a hold sound file, forms the data into packets and sends them to the terminal #2 (steps S6, S11, S12).
