PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice recognition apparatus, which can store contents of conversation through the telephone line by utilizing a means for controlling apparatuses with speech recognition. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a change-over switch 6 for providing an output by switching a voice signal from a microphone 1, a voice signal from a receiving circuit 9 of the telephone set 7, and a control means for controlling the change-over switch 6 with a signal from a termination control circuit 10 of the telephone set. When an output signal of the terminal control circuit 10 indicates a busy condition of the telephone set; the change-over switch 6 outputs the voice signal from the receiving circuit 9; this voice signal is recognized and converted to characters and is then stored in a memory 5. When the output signal of the termination control circuit 10 does not indicate the busy condition of telephone set, the change-over switch 6 outputs a voice signal from the microphone 1, this voice signal is recognized, and the control command obtained is thereby executed.
