PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication processing device that enables the continuation of communications across the whole of a network by detecting failures of the device to secure a relay function at the failures. SOLUTION: When a communication processing part 1 is normal and its transmission output 6 is outputted, a detection output 9 of a transmission detection part 7 becomes high level and the transmission output 6 of the communication processing part 1 is outputted to a transmission part 3 by a transmission output selecting part 8. On the other hand, when the communication processing part 1 becomes abnormal (fails) and the transmission output 6 is not outputted, the detection output 9 of the transmission detection part 7 becomes low level and a received input 5 is outputted as an output 10 of the transmission output selecting part 8, and this enables the relay of received data from a host communication processing device.
