PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with a recommended setup which is based on an analysis of scanned image data via a graphical user interface of a related device. SOLUTION: An image improving system (30) for determining an optimum setup for image reproduction comprises a data processor (70) for generating data that is capable of generating a full page video histogram and a pixel tag histogram based on a digital image data file, an image analyzing processor (160) for generating a full page video histogram and a pixel tag histogram, collecting a statistic based on these histograms, analyzing this statistic, and generating a recommended setup for an image mode setup and an image parameter setup based on this statistic, a scan supporting processor for comparing this recommended setup with a current setup to generate a recommended adjustment, and a user interface (40) for receiving this recommended adjustment for provision to the user. |
