PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which can display desired forms, characters or the like all over the light emitting surface with a uniform emission state and to provide a light emitting device showing uniform emission luminance all over the light emitting surface. SOLUTION: An LED light source is disposed opposing to the side face of a planar light guide plate. A plurality of grooves are formed on the back face of the light guide plate in such a manner that the groove bottoms are nearer to the upper face (light emitting surface) of the light guide plate in the grooves farther from the LED light source. |
