PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner which is capable of effectively using illuminating light radiating from a lighting unit for alignment with a read image. SOLUTION: The image scanner is equipped with a reading unit composed of at least a lighting source, an optical system, and a reading part. The image scanner makes alignment of the reading part with an image on a reading plane, taking advantage of all or some of light out of illuminating light radiating from the light source toward around an aperture. |
