摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that thermal flux of an electrolyte imposed on a wall material of a tank is increased to increase permeation of the electrolyte when the temperature of the electrolyte rises in a battery cell and thereby the temperature of the electrolyte in the tank for storing the electrolyte is raised. SOLUTION: This redox flow battery tank is so structured that, for instance, a positive electrode tank 4 is formed into a two-layer structure comprising an inner layer tank 4a and an outer layer tank 4b, a heating device or a heat insulation material 4c is installed between the two layers of the tank, and an insulating polyethylene lining 4d is applied to the inside wall surface of the inner layer tank 4a. Thereby, the beating device or the heat insulation material 4c acts so as to reduce the temperature gradient imposed on the polyethylene lining 4d. Accordingly, even if the temperature of the electrolyte rises, the permeation of the electrolyte into the polyethylene lining 4d can be restrained.
