PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for insufficient reproduction of data even when such a TA or a medium defect as increases retrying or disables reading a data part occur in AGC/PLL parts. SOLUTION: In a device for recording and reproducing information, and when an error occurs in an area where the AGC/PLL signals on the recording medium are recorded, and when the information are successively recorded over several sectors, the data are reproduced by using the AGC/PLL signals of the successive sectors without retrying, or by minimum retrying.
