PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient portable remote control system that utilizes a portable terminal with high versatility and functions suitable for a user and provides ease of use through its operation menu. SOLUTION: The portable remote control system is provided with a server unit that stores remote control operation information corresponding to each of remote control operation devices, a mobile remote control terminal that has a transmission section to transmit remote control operation information request data to request remote control operation information corresponding to a selected remote control operation object device in advance to the server unit via a wireless communication means or a public communication channel. The server unit transmits the remote control operation information corresponding to the remote control operation device selected on the basis of the remote control operation information request data to the remote control terminal.
