PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing cinerary urn is provided to remove moisture from the ashes of the dead and maintain internal temperature constant, while preventing damage, reducing manufacturing cost and achieving an aesthetic enhancement of the cinerary urn. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing cinerary urn, comprises a first step(10) of mixing paper with water; a second step(11) of heating the paper mixed with water; a third step(12) of crushing the heated paper; a fourth step(13) of adding charcoal powder to the crushed paper; a fifth step(14) of stirring, into a paste, the paper where the charcoal powder is added; a sixth step(15) of molding a cinerary urn from the paste of paper; a seventh step(16) of drying the molded cinerary urn; and an eighth step(17) of performing a surface treatment to the dried molded cinerary urn. The eighth step includes a sub-step(17a) of making the surface of the molded cinerary urn smooth by attaching Korean traditional paper to the surface; and a sub-step(17b) of coating the Korean traditional paper with oil so as to prevent ingress of water.
