PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out stabilized recording, reproducing, and overwriting at a high transfer rate on each information recording region of a multylayer optical disk. SOLUTION: The first information recording region is made of a phase change recording material mainly consisting of Sb and Te with their atomic ratio 2.3<Sb/Te<=4.0. Since this phase change recording material is quick to crystallize, stabilized recording, reproducing, and overwriting is possible at a high speed. |
