PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with manually taking out information related with a peripheral device from CD-ROM. SOLUTION: When the peripheral device 56 is connected to a host computer 20, a stored network address is read by a host computer 20. The network address is judged desirably by the host computer 20 when the peripheral device such as a USB device is connected to the host computer 20 at first or when power is supplied to the host computer 20 having newly connected USB. After this, the network address is used by the host computer 20 for communicating with a remote device, and it becomes possible to access information related with the peripheral device 56 such as a device driver for the peripheral device from a remote peripheral device 56 by the host computer 20.
